  1. Revision history for Selenium-Remote-Driver
  2. 0.18 7-26-2013
  3. [THINGS THAT MIGHT BREAK YOUR CODE]
  4. - We now 'croak' instead of returning error strings in a number of
  5. cases where invalid method calls were made. This should make
  6. debugging easier in some cases, and is more aligned with our
  7. documentation which already stated that we would croak on errors.
  8. Still, your code may depend on the old behavior.
  9. https://github.com/aivaturi/Selenium-Remote-Driver/commit/7cdf3dce0fcaa48a883d045368c094351754e85a
  10. - The hover() method on the WebElement has been removed. This is not in the JSON Wire protocol,
  11. and the same functionality is avialable with the Driver object's move_to() method.
  12. https://github.com/aivaturi/Selenium-Remote-Driver/pull/77
  13. [NEW FEATURES]
  14. - Merged Test::WebDriver into this distribution as Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver.
  15. Several updates to it are included since the last release. (Mark Stosberg)
  16. - The existence of most (or all?) key testing methods in
  17. Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver is now documented, rather than leaving it to users
  18. to figure out the magic effects of AUTOLOAD on the methods in the parent
  19. class. (Mark Stosberg)
  20. - Added type_ok() to Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver, similar to the method by the same name
  21. from Test::WWW::Mechanize (Mark Stosberg)
  22. - Added find_no_element_ok() to Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver (Mark Stosberg)
  23. - Added and started using Test::Selenium::Remote::WebElement. This a
  24. sub-class of Selenium::Remote::WebElement. This allows testing
  25. methods on the "WebElement" object as well as main '$driver' object.
  26. - Added a pause() function, that sleeps for the given number of milliseconds, just like
  27. Test::WWW::Selenium. https://github.com/aivaturi/Selenium-Remote-Driver/issues/60
  28. - new() now accepts a 'default_finder' option to allow you to change the default finder, which
  29. is currently 'xpath'. This will be of interest to those who prefer CSS-style selectors,
  30. such as jQuery uses.
  31. https://github.com/aivaturi/Selenium-Remote-Driver/pull/49
  32. - new() now accepts a 'webelement_class' option to allow you to specify an alternate WebElement class.
  33. This could be used to add testing methods or functionality for WebElements.
  34. - Shortcut methods absorbed from Test::WebDriver into Selenium::Remote::Driver:
  35. get_text() Returns the text for a particular element.
  36. get_body() Returns the text for the whole body.
  37. get_path() Returns the path part of the current URL.
  38. - New short method to save a screenshot to a file: $driver->capture_screenshot($filename).
  39. The name was chosen for compatibility with a WWW::Selenium method of the same name.
  40. - Removed 'get_location()' as an alias in Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver.
  41. Please use the more specific 'get_current_url()' instead.
  42. It's a more specific name that matches the Selenium API method name.
  43. - Adding text checking methods to Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver
  44. # Run regex's against the entire page source
  45. content_like()
  46. content_unlike()
  47. # Run regex's against just the "text" of the page
  48. body_text_like()
  49. body_text_unlike()
  50. # Check page source for strings
  51. content_contains()
  52. content_lacks()
  53. # Check text of page for strings
  54. body_text_contains()
  55. body_text_lacks()
  56. The names are intentionally the same as their Test::WWW::Mechanize
  57. counterparts. However, these methods may take an arrayref of regular
  58. expressions for improved performance when you want to run multiple
  59. tests against the same page.
  60. Normally Selenium::Remote::Driver would make an HTTP request to the
  61. driven browser for each content check. By using an arrayref for
  62. multiple checks of the same page, you can avoid the extra HTTP
  63. requests and speed up your tests. (Mark Stosberg)
  64. [DOCUMENTATION]
  65. - Updated ChangeLog to reflect that debug_on() and debug_off() methods were added in 0.16.
  66. [INTERNALS]
  67. - MIME::Base64 is now only loaded if it used for a file upload or taking a screenshot.
  68. This will create a minor speed-up for common cases which don't use these features.
  69. - Explained why the code does 'use 5.006; use v5.10.0;', and it's not pretty.
  70. The short version: before perl 5.006, the v-string 'v5.10.0' would not be understood.
  71. The page http://www.dagolden.com/index.php/369/version-numbers-should-be-boring/
  72. explains it in much more detail than I can.
  73. Fortunately, it boils down to this: http://perldoc.perl.org/5.10.0/functions/use.html#use-VERSION
  74. - Added Test::LongString as a dependency to support the new content checking methods.
  75. 0.17 7-13-2013

  144. ("css selector","class name","tag name", etc)
  145. 0.11 8-16-2011
  146. This is quite a large list for this release and will be
  147. the first cpan release. The later releases will hopefully
  148. happen often and won't be quite as large.
  149. - subroutine calls carp when an error occurs or when
  150. an element cannot be found
  151. - if an element cannot be found, carp should tell you
  152. which line in your local script where the element was
  153. not found
  154. - added the following driver api calls
  155. click,double_click,button_down,button_up,close,status,

  168. (thanks Phil Kania!)
  169. - fixed issue: check for empty string before trying to decode
  170. - fixed issue: if script using the module ever forked, the
  171. driver would call quit whenever that fork was closed
  172. - fixed issue: Marked as deprecated: WebElement::set_selected
  173. and WebElement::toggle
  174. - fixed issue: global $driver variable in WebElement caused the
  175. remote connection to be destroyed before the driver was able
  176. to call quit()

  179. - Driver.pm: missing 'css' entry in FINDERS

  182. 0.10 5-2-2010
  183. - Implemented support for JSON wire protocol as of a4 release of
  184. Selenium 2.0.
  185. - The main Driver & WebElement modules are implemented & functional.
  186. - Added unit tests for Driver. As of this moment only live testing is
  187. supported as the server itself is alpha & mocking its behavior doesn't
  188. help our cause.
  189. - Added POD for Driver & WebElement
  190. 0.01 2-21-2010
  191. First version, released on an unsuspecting world.
