  37. 0.18 3-28-2014
  38. - New maintainer: Daniel Gempesaw <gempesaw@gmail.com>
  39. - Fix failing tests in CPAN distribution!
  40. [THINGS THAT MIGHT BREAK YOUR CODE]
  41. - We now 'croak' instead of returning error strings in a number of
  42. cases where invalid method calls were made. This should make
  43. debugging easier in some cases, and is more aligned with our
  44. documentation which already stated that we would croak on errors.
  45. Still, your code may depend on the old behavior.
  46. https://github.com/aivaturi/Selenium-Remote-Driver/commit/7cdf3dce0fcaa48a883d045368c094351754e85a
  47. - The hover() method on the WebElement has been removed. This is not in the JSON Wire protocol,
  48. and the same functionality is avialable with the Driver object's move_to() method.
  49. https://github.com/aivaturi/Selenium-Remote-Driver/pull/77
  50. [NEW FEATURES]
  51. - Merged Test::WebDriver into this distribution as Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver.
  52. Several updates to it are included since the last release. (Mark Stosberg)
  53. - The existence of most (or all?) key testing methods in
  54. Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver is now documented, rather than leaving it to users
  55. to figure out the magic effects of AUTOLOAD on the methods in the parent
  56. class. (Mark Stosberg)
  57. - Added type_ok() to Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver, similar to the method by the same name
  58. from Test::WWW::Mechanize (Mark Stosberg)
  59. - Added several methods to Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver that allow you to find
  60. an WebElement and test against in a single command. (Mark Stosberg)
  61. The test methods for WebElements include:
  62. type_element_ok - find an element and type into it.
  63. element_text_is - find an element and check the text.
  64. element_value_is - find an element and check the value.
  65. click_element_ok - find an element and click on it.
  66. clear_element_ok - find an element and clear it.
  67. is_element_displayed_ok - find an element and check to see if it's displayed.
  68. is_element_enabled_ok - find an element and check to see if it's enabled.
  69. - Added and started using Test::Selenium::Remote::WebElement. This a
  70. sub-class of Selenium::Remote::WebElement. This allows testing
  71. methods on the "WebElement" object as well as main '$driver' object.
  72. - Added a pause() function, that sleeps for the given number of milliseconds, just like
  73. Test::WWW::Selenium. https://github.com/aivaturi/Selenium-Remote-Driver/issues/60
  74. - new() now accepts a 'default_finder' option to allow you to change the default finder, which
  75. is currently 'xpath'. This will be of interest to those who prefer CSS-style selectors,
  76. such as jQuery uses.
  77. https://github.com/aivaturi/Selenium-Remote-Driver/pull/49
  78. - new() now accepts a 'webelement_class' option to allow you to specify an alternate WebElement class.
  79. This could be used to add testing methods or functionality for WebElements.
  80. - Shortcut methods absorbed from Test::WebDriver into Selenium::Remote::Driver:
  81. get_text() Returns the text for a particular element.
  82. get_body() Returns the text for the whole body.
  83. get_path() Returns the path part of the current URL.
  84. - New short method to save a screenshot to a file: $driver->capture_screenshot($filename).
  85. The name was chosen for compatibility with a WWW::Selenium method of the same name.
  86. - Removed 'get_location()' as an alias in Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver.
  87. Please use the more specific 'get_current_url()' instead.
  88. It's a more specific name that matches the Selenium API method name.
  89. - Adding text checking methods to Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver
  90. # Run regex's against the entire page source
  91. content_like()
  92. content_unlike()
  93. # Run regex's against just the "text" of the page
  94. body_text_like()
  95. body_text_unlike()
  96. # Check page source for strings
  97. content_contains()
  98. content_lacks()
  99. # Check text of page for strings
  100. body_text_contains()
  101. body_text_lacks()
  102. The names are intentionally the same as their Test::WWW::Mechanize
  103. counterparts. However, these methods may take an arrayref of regular
  104. expressions for improved performance when you want to run multiple
  105. tests against the same page.
  106. Normally Selenium::Remote::Driver would make an HTTP request to the
  107. driven browser for each content check. By using an arrayref for
  108. multiple checks of the same page, you can avoid the extra HTTP
  109. requests and speed up your tests. (Mark Stosberg)
  110. [DOCUMENTATION]
  111. - Updated ChangeLog to reflect that debug_on() and debug_off() methods were added in 0.16.
  112. [INTERNALS]
  113. - Switch S::R::D to Moo; this should not have any adverse impacts, as our API is unchanged
  114. - Take advantage of additional Dist::Zilla plugins (travis, commitbuild, autoprereqs, etc)
  115. - MIME::Base64 is now only loaded if it used for a file upload or taking a screenshot.
  116. This will create a minor speed-up for common cases which don't use these features.
  117. - Explained why the code does 'use 5.006; use v5.10.0;', and it's not pretty.
  118. The short version: before perl 5.006, the v-string 'v5.10.0' would not be understood.
  119. The page http://www.dagolden.com/index.php/369/version-numbers-should-be-boring/
  120. explains it in much more detail than I can.
  121. Fortunately, it boils down to this: http://perldoc.perl.org/5.10.0/functions/use.html#use-VERSION
  122. - Added Test::LongString as a dependency to support the new content checking methods.

  193. 0.11 8-16-2011
  194. This is quite a large list for this release and will be
  195. the first cpan release. The later releases will hopefully
  196. happen often and won't be quite as large.
  197. - subroutine calls carp when an error occurs or when
  198. an element cannot be found
  199. - if an element cannot be found, carp should tell you
  200. which line in your local script where the element was
  201. not found

  230. 0.10 5-2-2010
  231. - Implemented support for JSON wire protocol as of a4 release of
  232. Selenium 2.0.
  233. - The main Driver & WebElement modules are implemented & functional.
  234. - Added unit tests for Driver. As of this moment only live testing is
  235. supported as the server itself is alpha & mocking its behavior doesn't
  236. help our cause.
  237. - Added POD for Driver & WebElement
  238. 0.01 2-21-2010
  239. First version, released on an unsuspecting world.
