  1. Revision history for Selenium-Remote-Driver
  2. 0.18 7-26-2013
  3. [THINGS THAT MIGHT BREAK YOUR CODE]
  4. - We now 'croak' instead of returning error strings in a number of
  5. cases where invalid method calls were made. This should make
  6. debugging easier in some cases, and is more aligned with our
  7. documentation which already stated that we would croak on errors.
  8. Still, your code may depend on the old behavior.
  9. https://github.com/aivaturi/Selenium-Remote-Driver/commit/7cdf3dce0fcaa48a883d045368c094351754e85a
  10. - The hover() method on the WebElement has been removed. This is not in the JSON Wire protocol,
  11. and the same functionality is avialable with the Driver object's move_to() method.
  12. https://github.com/aivaturi/Selenium-Remote-Driver/pull/77
  13. [NEW FEATURES]
  14. - Merged Test::WebDriver into this distribution as Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver.
  15. Several updates to it are included since the last release. (Mark Stosberg)
  16. - The existence of most (or all?) key testing methods in
  17. Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver is now documented, rather than leaving it to users
  18. to figure out the magic effects of AUTOLOAD on the methods in the parent
  19. class. (Mark Stosberg)
  20. - Added type_ok() to Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver, similar to the method by the same name
  21. from Test::WWW::Mechanize (Mark Stosberg)
  22. - Added several methods to Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver that allow you to find
  23. an WebElement and test against in a single command. (Mark Stosberg)
  24. The test methods for WebElements include:
  25. type_element_ok - find an element and type into it.
  26. element_text_is - find an element and check the text.
  27. element_value_is - find an element and check the value.
  28. click_element_ok - find an element and click on it.
  29. clear_element_ok - find an element and clear it.
  30. is_element_displayed_ok - find an element and check to see if it's displayed.
  31. is_element_enabled_ok - find an element and check to see if it's enabled.
  32. - Added and started using Test::Selenium::Remote::WebElement. This a
  33. sub-class of Selenium::Remote::WebElement. This allows testing
  34. methods on the "WebElement" object as well as main '$driver' object.
  35. - Added a pause() function, that sleeps for the given number of milliseconds, just like
  36. Test::WWW::Selenium. https://github.com/aivaturi/Selenium-Remote-Driver/issues/60
  37. - new() now accepts a 'default_finder' option to allow you to change the default finder, which
  38. is currently 'xpath'. This will be of interest to those who prefer CSS-style selectors,
  39. such as jQuery uses.
  40. https://github.com/aivaturi/Selenium-Remote-Driver/pull/49
  41. - new() now accepts a 'webelement_class' option to allow you to specify an alternate WebElement class.
  42. This could be used to add testing methods or functionality for WebElements.
  43. - Shortcut methods absorbed from Test::WebDriver into Selenium::Remote::Driver:
  44. get_text() Returns the text for a particular element.
  45. get_body() Returns the text for the whole body.
  46. get_path() Returns the path part of the current URL.
  47. - New short method to save a screenshot to a file: $driver->capture_screenshot($filename).
  48. The name was chosen for compatibility with a WWW::Selenium method of the same name.
  49. - Removed 'get_location()' as an alias in Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver.
  50. Please use the more specific 'get_current_url()' instead.
  51. It's a more specific name that matches the Selenium API method name.
  52. - Adding text checking methods to Test::Selenium::Remote::Driver
  53. # Run regex's against the entire page source
  54. content_like()
  55. content_unlike()
  56. # Run regex's against just the "text" of the page
  57. body_text_like()
  58. body_text_unlike()
  59. # Check page source for strings
  60. content_contains()
  61. content_lacks()
  62. # Check text of page for strings
  63. body_text_contains()
  64. body_text_lacks()
  65. The names are intentionally the same as their Test::WWW::Mechanize
  66. counterparts. However, these methods may take an arrayref of regular
  67. expressions for improved performance when you want to run multiple
  68. tests against the same page.
  69. Normally Selenium::Remote::Driver would make an HTTP request to the
  70. driven browser for each content check. By using an arrayref for
  71. multiple checks of the same page, you can avoid the extra HTTP
  72. requests and speed up your tests. (Mark Stosberg)
  73. [DOCUMENTATION]
  74. - Updated ChangeLog to reflect that debug_on() and debug_off() methods were added in 0.16.
  75. [INTERNALS]
  76. - MIME::Base64 is now only loaded if it used for a file upload or taking a screenshot.
  77. This will create a minor speed-up for common cases which don't use these features.
  78. - Explained why the code does 'use 5.006; use v5.10.0;', and it's not pretty.
  79. The short version: before perl 5.006, the v-string 'v5.10.0' would not be understood.
  80. The page http://www.dagolden.com/index.php/369/version-numbers-should-be-boring/
  81. explains it in much more detail than I can.
  82. Fortunately, it boils down to this: http://perldoc.perl.org/5.10.0/functions/use.html#use-VERSION
  83. - Added Test::LongString as a dependency to support the new content checking methods.

  153. ("css selector","class name","tag name", etc)
  154. 0.11 8-16-2011
  155. This is quite a large list for this release and will be
  156. the first cpan release. The later releases will hopefully
  157. happen often and won't be quite as large.
  158. - subroutine calls carp when an error occurs or when
  159. an element cannot be found
  160. - if an element cannot be found, carp should tell you
  161. which line in your local script where the element was
  162. not found
  163. - added the following driver api calls
  164. click,double_click,button_down,button_up,close,status,

  181. - fixed issue: Marked as deprecated: WebElement::set_selected
  182. and WebElement::toggle
  183. - fixed issue: global $driver variable in WebElement caused the

  192. - Implemented support for JSON wire protocol as of a4 release of
  193. Selenium 2.0.
  194. - The main Driver & WebElement modules are implemented & functional.

  196. supported as the server itself is alpha & mocking its behavior doesn't
  197. help our cause.
  198. - Added POD for Driver & WebElement
  199. 0.01 2-21-2010
  200. First version, released on an unsuspecting world.
